Background

 

Tara Rao focuses her practice on estate planning and probate and trust administration.  Prior to joining Franklin Karibjanian & Law, Ms. Rao was the principal of The Rao Law Firm, P.L. in Lutz and Tampa, Florida where she practiced in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration, guardianship, and business planning. She received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of South Florida, her J.D. and a Certificate in Estates and Trusts from the University of Florida, Levin College of Law.  She also received her LL.M - Masters in Taxation at Boston University School of Law.

Tara has been admitted to the Bar of District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, New York, Florida, and the U.S. Tax Court. She was one of the four Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section Fellows and served on the Executive Counsel.  She was in the inaugural class and is a Graduate of the Florida Fellows Institute of the American Collect of Trust and Estate Counsel.  

Tara served as a Director and a Past-President of the South Asian Bar Association of Florida.  She served as Co-Chair of the Hillsborough County Bar Association  Diversity Committee (FL) and as Director, Officer, and various Chair roles of the Hillsborough Association of Women Lawyers (FL).  She was an Adjunct Professor of Legal Studies at Keiser University.  Tara served on the Annual Convention Commisstt and the Special Committee on Diversity and Inclusion of the Florida Bar, of which she was past Co-Chair.  She also served on the Florida Probate Rules Committee of the Florida Bar.
